G is for Grape.
I love the smell of grapes. In late August, my grapevines are heavy with grapes begging to be picked and made into jelly. What a wonderful scent to fill the air with while cooking and canning a year's worth of yumminess!
The little butterflies on this page are cut from a grape soda can using a paper punch.
Good thing you love the smell of grapes because I remember from an earlier post that you're not fond of the colour purple. I, however, am and really like your art.

ReplyDeleteI'm playing catch up today since DH had to work. Yeah, it's Sunday. Normally, I stay away from Blogosphere on the weekend because it's my time to spend with him. Oh well...not all is bad since I found your link up on an earlier sign up this week and I can't figure out how I missed you. *sigh*
It's interesting DH and I were just talking about grapes this morning. His parents had a small vineyard and I mentioned how I missed their grapes. Mmm, were they ever good, too. His mother passed away in 2014 and mostly recently (last month) his 95-year-old dad went home to be with our Lord and his darling wife of 67 years. We have a lot of sentimental moments lately reflecting on their lives and how GREAT they were.
Your grape influenced art surely has the textures soft, hard, rough, smooth,... Is this on mounted on a canvas or is that a board? It's a very cool piece of art and I definitely love the smell of grapes,too.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. I am using children's board books for my alphabet. My plan is to put together a book at the end of the month with all the letters. So far I'm on schedule!
What a great idea for creating the butterflies! They are wonderful, and a better use for soda than actually drinking it...haha!
