carve december - 28 & 29

The month is almost over! Daily stamp carving has been fun.  I tried hard to keep my stamps as simple as possible.

If I had to pick my favorite stamp, it would be little gnome!

carve december 26 & 27

The inspiration for "houses" came from a pic I took a few years ago of our neighbors across the field.  In the summer months, I can hardly see them.  In winter we enjoy a "postcard view"

Merry Christmas!

For our tree this year, I made a flock of blue butterflies using plaster gauze and clothes pins.  This was a quick and easy project that I am sure children would love to make.  It also used up all the gauze from my stash!

carve december - 20 & 21

I think the ladder stamp will come in very useful! I have all kinds of ideas for future stamping with it.

I don't often see owls thru my window, but listen to them often.  I know they are out there!

No, they are not flying fish...

I've wanted to do a bird cage for a long time. It was quick and easy to carve.

Creative block...

I had time for art play this afternoon, but found myself with creative block. Tons of unfinished projects clutter my studio. Nothing spoke to me.  After the dog took me for a walk, I saw my gelli plate all lonely sitting on a pile of papers. I made a happy mess and enjoyed every minute!

carve december day #4 / black cat

I had to do a stamp/page for my sweet little black cat.  He is no longer with us, having disappeared in the fall.  The coyotes, hawks, and eagles have been too close for comfort and I fear one of them took him away.   He was my husband's favorite cat, always a fierce hunter and very protective of our other 2 cats.  We are missing him.

A current shot of what is actually out my kitchen window:

#carvedecember2018 / day #1

Carve December has begun! Be sure to #carvedecember2018 on instagram for some amazing art work.  I'm keeping mine super simple and very small.  I am not following the list of ideas, instead I will be carving things I see outside my kitchen window.

Snow

My son asked for snow pictures.  He lives in southern Illinois and they were not blessed with this beautiful snowfall.

I love the cold!  It means my coat can come out and play!
