#seaglassandsunshine continues

Today the weatherman has promised rain.  It's actually a good thing, as sunny days make for outdoor play and my to do list gets lost.  I had such high expectations for Stay at Home April.  Don't get me wrong - I did tons of things, but nothing finished.  Now I have been given a second month at home to seriously tackle the big things.  With warm sunshine on the horizon, I'd better get something completed, or once again I'll be outside all day.  I know the garden will enjoy it, but today's rain is a  blessing.
My seaglass and sunshine quilt was to hang in the library during the month of May.  It is mostly put together - just needs a few small blocks to fill in a few empty spots, binding, and more quilting.  My big push to finish it was planned for this coming week.  The deadline has changed, as far as the library display goes, but I want this project finished!  This morning I started with making a few simple blocks:

It was nice to unroll the quilt to look at what is happening.  It's all rather busy.  Usually I wouldn't like this style, but I'm seeing it as a mosaic and will in time probably add even more beads and bits of dyed lace.

My husband just called up to me and asked if I want to binge the Indiana Jones movies this weekend. Yes. What great timing.  I can stitch and enjoy some of my favorite movies.  I think this quilt will be finished sooner rather than later!

#aroundtheworldin80project - sunshine

Yellow = Sunshine
Today began as a rainy grey day, but as I sit here looking outside I see brilliant sunshine.  With mowing on my list of things to do tomorrow, my money is on rain on Thursday!  That's ok.  I can always stitch!

I've stuck to working on my sunshine blocks for my project.  I have an idea in my head, but need to get a few more blocks done (or at least started), before I can begin real design work. Baby steps for now.

#aroundtheworldin80project

I jumped on board. My plan was to work on my #seaglassandsunshine project for the next few months, so the timing to commit to a project was perfect.  It seems that the only way I get something done is to have a commitment with a deadline.

Friday was "Do Your Own Thing" at the library, so I spent the morning dyeing and over dyeing fabrics for my project.  I plan to work on a quilt (not sure of size yet), using stitching, beads, and what ever else tickles my fancy! I have about a dozen block already stitched, but now they have purpose rather than #morningtea keep my hands busy.

Morning Tea: #seaglassandsunshine

After picking up my quilt from the Madison show, husband decided that I needed to enter to win next year.  I explained that my style of quilting will not win in Madison.  His response was to find a different show and go after it.  I'm thinking that my little bits that I make each morning while beginning my day could end up as a quilt.  So, this quilt is just in the thinking stage, but now have a goal of continuing this colour scheme for a month or so to see where it leads!
