#100DayProject / day #3

At the beginning of 100 days, it is easy to come up with ideas. While planning for the challenge, I decided that it would be a good opportunity to try different techniques that I have recorded from books, magazines, pinterest, etc.  This little bowl has layers of fabric stitched together and then some snipping to reveal fabric beneath the top layer.  What I learned is to work a little larger as it is difficult to see the numerous layers. It is also screaming for some beads!

Day #2 / Avocado Bowl

Sometimes projects have a mind of their own!  This one spoke to me at breakfast. A bit of avocado toast gave me the idea to create a bowl...

#100 Day Project / Day #1

Off to a good start!  I've done day 1 of 100! Only 99 to go...

Part of my goal is to try some new stitches on my little bowls, boxes and containers.  I'm keeping it as simple as possible and making each daily project small

A few more butterflies...

I'm enjoying this group of butterflies.

The flowers were cut from an old hankie from my stash.

Fabric is part of my grey dye experiments before teaching a class later this month.

Maybe add some beads when I have time?

Hugs and Kisses...

A few beads sure helped this little guy. He needed some bling.

The fuchsia medallion is from some ugly gingham that was over dyed.

Left hand corner...  indigo pounding has begun.  So nice to have healthy looking plants in the garden.  It won't be long and the plants will be in the dye pot!

100 Day Project / simple doodle turned stencil

We are at the half way point of the 100 Day Project.  My heart is not in it, but I am determined to complete 100 days of simple patterns.

It's pretty obvious that I didn't spend much time on this drawing:

I cut a stencil and used thickened dyes on an old dish towel:

I think it will go to my free motion stitching class on Friday, and I may even end up liking it!

100 Days

My 100 Days of Art is an exploration of pattern and texture.  So far I haven't touched texture and indeed may leave it for my next 100 days.  My goal is to record patterns each day for at least 10 minutes.  At the end of 100 days, I should have an awesome journal filled with ideas!

100 Day Project

With retirement comes more art time and the chance to participate in projects I never had time for in the past.  Beth shared The 100 Day Project link with me and how could I not jump in with both feet!  My goal is to work on pattern and/or texture for at least 10 minutes each day.  After 100 days I will have a notebook full of ideas and a daily habit of creating art!
Last week I played at the library for a day and made a ton of gelli prints trying to pull in some of my designs:
