I keep making butterflies. In May, I will be teaching a mini class at the library and find myself already searching for great ideas. It needs to be simple and quick to create. I have been able to find a little stitching time each day:

Pineapple love
After everyone left for an afternoon of beach, I stayed behind to catch up on some writing and stitch. Too much sun is not a good thing for me. I had noticed a few pineapples in the house and went on a pineapple hunt...

Off on holiday...
Decided to head to Hawaii for Christmas to spend time with Jes's Aunt Liz. I am not sure who is more excited about this trip Liz or Jes! She doesn't get much company and especially not for the length of time we are going - 3 weeks! My niece Emily will also be home from college for the holiday. We plan to do much hiking, beach walks, and sight seeing. Liz has a list of things for us to do. Jes talked me into a bowl game on Christmas Eve. Yes football! Imagine football in the warm sunshine! I watched the Bears/Packers game yesterday and it looked SO cold. Instead, I'll be covered in sunscreen.
I packed plenty of stitching to work on, but if none of it gets done that is ok too. This trip is like going to a spa for 3 weeks!
Our flight leaves on Tuesday morning. Lots of last minute things to do...
Merry Christmas!

If you have never participated, it is a fun challenge! Sometimes the stamps work, and sometimes I'd rather pitch and start over. I figure they are my learning experience stamps...

Red dog...
A funny short story...
My mom's friend gave her a little stuffed animal after he returned from a week long golfing outing. She kept it on a bench in the living room so he would see it when he visited. In August, while my sister and I were doing last minute prep work for a small wedding reception at mom's house, we decided to hide the dog. We quietly removed it and put it away for "safe keeping"...
Now 4 months later... mom finally realized that red dog was missing. She immediately came to me! What does this say about my reputation? Yes, I am the trickster in the family. My dad taught me well.
Funny thing was that I couldn't remember where it was hidden and when I asked my sister, she couldn't remember either! After some brainstorming we both agreed that it was in the basement.
When I went to mom's on Monday for my weekly sleep over, she made sure that I found the dog. It has a new home.... on my bed.

#carvedecember - day 3
Someone who is participating in #carvedecember explained the trill of cutting this type of block as the same excitement as cutting paper snowflakes. You don't know what you have until you start printing and playing with it.
I decided to starting printing each block with paint on papers from my stash. Instead of using a brayer to apply the paint, I am using a sponge brush for a rustic messy look. That's who I am!
