Inspired by the full moon

Did you see the moon on the 7th of April?  I was outside with my dog before the sun came up and was amazed at the beauty of the moon.  At ground level we were covered in fog, but the sky was magnificent!  Some resist dyeing using a couple of canning lids and clamps gave me a set of moons to stitch later when inspired:

Cathedral at St. Lucia

Just a short walk from the cruise ship, this cathedral caught my eye and I had to explore!

Art on the Koningsdam

I was delighted to find tons of mixed media art on our cruise ship!  This was by far my favorite grouping of pieces and I made sure to walk past it every day.  The photos are not the best as the lighting made it difficult to take pics without glare.

Magazine inspired...

I picked up a magazine from the library exchange table and discovered art by Valerie Casado. I love the rustic ceramics created by this creative woman.

Inspired, I wanted to create something with supplies I had on hand.  A small package of paper clay left over from a project with my niece, a rolling pin, and an old doily did the trick!  Oh, the possibilities...

Travel food - healthy and my sins

I am usually a very healthy eater.  Not vegan, but practice eating a plant based diet.  For the most part, no meat.  Some chicken but my first choice is fish and sea food.  For Thanksgiving my dear brother fixed snails for me!  I have a weakness for sushi and could probably live on raw tuna for the rest of my days.  Very little dairy in my diet, but cheese and yumminess finds a way to my plate now and then.  As the saying goes... when in Rome...  Well - when I travel, I must try out the local foods!

Lisbon: Graffiti

Graffiti - Art or vandalism?  My thoughts....  When graffiti is destructive on statues or well kept buildings, it is vandalism.  Where does one draw the line?  No pun intended...  I look for creative graffiti in my travels and usually find work that makes me pull out my camera.
