I grew a few Hopi Black Seed sunflowers this summer to use for dye. The birds had been snatching seeds from a few of the heads, so I decided it was time to harvest. It maybe was a little too early, and in hind sight I probably could of covered the flowers with netting for protection. Oh well - it's done. Now I wait until they are dry to remove the seeds. It will be fun to try this dye during the winter when I need a little sunshine in my kitchen!

Addressing the Earth
The 12 dresses in this series are stitched and ready to head to the gallery at the Moline International Airport! I spent time today working on the entry information for Quad City Arts. Honestly - it has been such a long time since I used Excel!!! A few tears and frustration (towards me), but I think it may be entered correctly. I hope.
The dresses will also be in a book, that if all goes well, to be available at the beginning of November. Yes - a little stress right now! This is the "cover dress". More stitching and beads on the to do list:

Afternoon painting
I haven't lifted a paintbrush in a long time. As the weather is now getting cooler it seems like a good time to spend a few hours in my little cottage. My plan was to cover the walls with flowers and nature. Just maybe, one wall will be finished before the first frost. Or not... no stress, just me time.

Painting project ahead!
I came across this on Instagram while mindless middle of the night, I can't sleep, scrolling. Not that I need another project, but this certainly spoke to me. My little cottage needs a face lift!

My tree
How many photos do I have of this tree? I'm sure it's in the hundreds. Sadly, it had no leaves this summer. I'll keep taking pics until the neighbors (or nature) takes it down.
This pic is not enhanced! The sky was amazing as the full moon was getting ready to rise.
