Slowly getting my dye experiments washed and ready for stitching and quilting.  Yellow is such a happy colour - looking forward to using these fabrics in January when the grey days start to get to me down.

I have a yoyo quilt from the 1970's that has been sitting in a box for too long.  It was begging to be cut apart and dyed.  I am now addicted!

Same procedure... gelli plate / paint tree with brush using thickened dyes / print / add threads and beads.

I'm working on plans for a dye workshop for January. These simple trees started as thickened dye painted on a gelli plate. After printing I added some background colour with more thickened dyes and a paint brush.  Final step... add threads. 

special bday

A sweet dear friend of my moms is turning 85 this week.  Her sisters have planned a card shower.  I worked on mine this morning:

Leaf bundles / red maples

Very happy with the bundles I boiled up yesterday.  I want to do more, but with steaming instead of boiling. I think the lines will be crisper.
