It's time to get working on the collage piece I am submitting for the Christmas holiday exhibit at our local library. It has a felted wool base with an assortment of gifted items from friends and family.
It began with small dress given to me by a friend. It was her first communion dress from about 60 years ago. How lucky am I that friends gift their hoarded treasures to me!
This collage quilt is almost done! It needs a sleeve for hanging and a few more shards. My goal of being complete by October 1st was realistic and achievable! It is constructed with recycled dyed fabrics, cyanotype sun prints, broken china, and beads.
Size is 30" x 43"
It was created as a donation for the Festival of Trees auction in Davenport Iowa. I'm feeling a little sad about giving her away, but there is plenty of blue in my stash to begin another one!
When I left on my trip, I was certain that the cosmos would be done blooming. I was delighted to find blooms welcoming me home.
I do love travel, but also find the return home to be satisfying. It's time now to process what I've learned and seen. What was the best part of my trip? I liked Krakow much more than Warsaw. Warsaw is just too big for this rural girl. Don't get me wrong, I'd go back, but my recommendation is Krakow.
My luggage hasn't caught up with me. At least I am home without it, and not overseas wondering when it will show up!

I planned to take photos at the Waesaw airport. Not a pretty place. Instead, I have pics from th Neon Museum from the day before. Very interesting place with history of neon signs being preserved.
I love buttons - my own collection is crazy huge. So nice to stumble upon this tiny museum in the back of a cute Polush shop!
